[135] Aunt Betty Blanscet, played nursemaid to people all around themountain. When the Elmer and Velmer were born she helped the doctor.She brought Elmer to life, only weighed 1 3/4 pound. Velmer weighed 53/4 pound. It is told that Aunt Betty took Elmer and put him in a boxand opened the wood stove door and put the box on the door to warm himup. It is also said that she mixed something up and hand feed it tohim that made him to start breathing. Told to Patricia (Blanscet)Dill by Buna Blanscet, Mary Gilbreath, Gene Blanscet, LillianBlanscet. Also said that someone took their mothers wedding ring andit would slip over their hand and up their arm, that should telleveryone how tiny they were.

Elmer C. Blansce, 68, of Fort Smith, who died Sunday in a Fort Smithhospital, will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Center Point Church inHartman. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery. Ozark, by GreerFuneral Home, Ozark.
He was a native of Franklin County, a veteran of World War 11 and adeacon of the Center Point Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Buna; one daughter, Mrs. Janella Pugh ofVan Buren; one son, Roland of Denver, Colo.; one brother, Gene ofOzark; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
[139] Buried in Lot 12 those buried there are: Garland B. Sosebee,Clarence D. Alcorn, A. B. Sosebee and Mabel Sosebee (parents of Buna(Sosebe) Blanscet.

Had heart attack at home on Route 1, Altus, Franklin County, Arkansasin the hay field. On June 13, 1974 suffered a severe heart attack andwent to the hospital in Ozark, Franklin County, Arkansas. Stayedthere 6 days in intensive care then 15 days in room with no visitorssign on the door. Then 4 days in room 30, then back home. On July8th went back to see Doctor Long for check-up, after 11 days. Reportwas good and will be back in 3 weeks for appointment.
Report was good following heart attack. 7 Jan 1975 had a severestroke which got his speech and whole right side. Stayed in TurnerHospital in Ozark, Franklin County, Arkansas untill Jan. 17th, 1975.Was then moved by ambulance to the Veterans Hospital in Fayetteville,Washington County, Arkansas. Stayed there till March 14, 1975, wentto live at the Methodist Village in Fort Smith, Sebastain County,Arkansas. Had physical therapy and speech therapy. July 5, 1975suffered another light stroke on the way to Longview, Texas. Had tosay in hospital in New Boston, Texas released on the 6th of July, wenthome and had to Returned to V. A. Hospital.
Was in and out of the hospital until he died on 11 Dec 1977, he hadanother heart attack and was dead on arrival at Sparks Hospital inFort Smith, Sebastain County, Arkansas.

Son of the late Jeff and Tobitha Sublett Blanscet he was born August26, 1909, in Franklin County. He was a native of Franklin county, aveteran of World War 11 and a deacon of the Center Point BaptistChurch.
Survivors include his wife Buna; one daughter, Mrs. Janella Pugh ofVan Buren; one son, Roland of Denver, Colo,; one sister Velda Kielmanof Denver, Colo; one brother, Gene of Ozark,; two grandchildren andtwo great-grandchildren.
Funeral serval services were held at the Center Point Baptist Church,Route one Hartman. Kenneth Ashlock officiated, assisted by DarrellSmith. Burial was in Highland cemetery, with arrangements by GreerFuneral Home.
Pallbearers were: active, David Sosebee, Gary Jacobs, Rip Teal,Thurman and Julius Highfill and Owen Pipkins; and honorary, RobertStephens, Bill Strackbein, Garlon Ming, Waysmon Ashlock, Ormel Jacobs,Harrison Allred and Relus Sosebee.

Blanscet with their father when they were small children. The knewBettie and
Rose were their father's cousins, but were not sure whether secondcousins.
* She is mentioned as a survivor in the obituary of her sisterBetty's
obituary originally published in The Spectator, Ozark, Arkansas,November 22,
1946 and republished in the 50 years ago column of the SpectatorNovember 20,
1996. She was living in the same home as Bette.
[638] Rosie never married. She and Bette lived on the home place in thecabin untill they died. They were well known for their loving andcaring for those who needed their help. Woodrow Tucker and RoyPledger remembers plowing their garden for them and used the oldmethod of drying fruits and vegetables. The old log cabin was alwayssurrounded by their flowers, herbs and vegetables.
