Couple celebrates 50th anniversary
Mr. and Mrs. Benny D. Blanscet of Altus celebrated their 50th weddinganniversary on May 11, with a reception hosted by their family inBaytown, Texas.
Mrs. Blanscet is the former Bill Jo Stockman, a native of Mr. Belview,Texas.
They were married May 11, 1947, in Cody, Texas, by the late Rev. FainBlanscet.
The couple has raised five children, Robert Blanscet of Ozark; WayneBlanscet of Baytown, Texas; Sue Tropell of Mr. Belview, Texas; LindaNapier and Sabrina Schmidt, both of Tulsa, Oklahoma. They have fivegrandchildren and four great grandchildren.

Funeral services for Eddie Lee Blanscet, 65, of Route 1, Altus,wereheld Friday at 2 p.m. at the Altus United Methodist Church, of whichhe was an active member. Rev. J. C. Mr. Blanscet, a retired coal miner, died at his home about 8:45 p.m.,Tuesday, October 13, of an apparent heart attack. Son of the lateJeff and Tobitha Sublett Blanscet, he was born August 15, 1905, inAltus.
Survivors include his wife, Lillian Williams Blanscet; one son, Bobbyof Houston, Texas; one daughter Mrs. Dortha Mae Ultsch of Houston;three brothers, Gene of Greenwood, Elmer of Route 1, Altus, and Velmerof Lavaca; one sister, Mrs. Velda Kielman of Denver, Colorado; fourgrandchildren and one great grandchild.
Pallbearers were Fay "Buddy" Gagaway, Coy Watts, Dow Pledger, EarlVaught, J. D. Edgin and Reelis Sosebee.
Honorary bearers were Matt Kukar, Charlie Melton, Alford Clark, VetisSosebee, Victor Harris and Harold Williams.
