Francis Isabellle Blanscet was called "Belle" and "Fannie". Shemarried a sistant cousin, John Kilgore who was a coal miner.
They had four children who all died young. Her adopted daughter,Ellen "Mae" Kilgore, was a neice to John. Mae recalls a son ofFannie-Belle's had long curly hair, and he would say "My curls are sopretty".
Note: This is what Mae recalls about Fannie-Belle and John:
Fannie-Belle and John lived just down the road from Bettie and Rosie. There was a one room school house set out behind theri house. It waslater converted to a barn. Mae remembers them planting some kind ofbeans with the corn and they called it cornfield beans. They wouldbutcher a calf or hog for meat. They made all their clothing.
John had a sore on his back that would not heal, one day Mae (age 17)and Fannie-Belle were peeling apples and they stopped to do the choresand found John dead behind the barn. The doctor said the cause was aheart attack. (Fannie-Belle and Mae thought that the sore was whatkilled him)
Fannie-Belle moved in with Bettie and Rosie after John died for awhileand then lived with Mae until her death.
John and Fannie-Belle adopted Mae when Mae's mother died young, she isa niece of John's.
Fannie had blue eyes and a slender build.
Fannie-Belle is buried at the Blanscet Cemetery.
