31 October 1862 bears the following remark: "Discharded by

Tom Walker, 82, of the Oak Bend community, Route 3, Ozark, diedMonday, March 9, 1998, at Mercy Hospital/Turner Memorial.
He was a Navy veteran of World War 11, a Baptist and a retired salvageyard operatior. Son of the late Matthew and Ada Ann (Holland) Walker,he was born Oct. 16, 1915, at Waldron.
Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Ollie Pruett Walker; adaughter, Ruby Dell Nichols of Ozark; two sons, T. J. Walker of Ozarkand Dale Walker of Montgomery, Ala.; three sisters, Fannie Shaw andMelba Bonds, both of Ozark, and Louella Shaw of Ratcliff; a brother,Odell Walker of Van Buren; 15 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren,and three great-great-
granchildren.
He was preceded in death by two sons, Truman in 1979 and Larry in1983.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Oak Bend BaptistChurch, with Rev. Carroll Squires officiationg. Burial will be atCemetery Ridge, under the direction of Shaffer Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Larry, Roger, David, Dewayne and Terry Walker andWayne Barnett, active; and Timmy Walker, Donald Williams and RickyBearden, honorary.
