* He was known as "J. D." Edgin. He was quite active in localpolitics and
community activities. He lived away from Franklin County serveralyears and
moved back to Franklin County about 1970. He was active in FranklinCounty
as a Minister in the Church of Nazerine and active in a number of ofcommunity
activities. He served several several terms as County Clerk ofFranklin
County during the 1970's and 1980 and was most helpful to me inaccumulation of
genealogy information. He served several terms on the Ozark, ArkansasCity
Council and resigned in April 1991 due to ill health. (see file fromThe
Spectator of 11 Apr 1991 (filed in scrapbook).
* He received a permanent lay ministers license from the Church ofthe Nazerin
(see article from The Spectator, Ozark, Arkansas July 13, 1989.
* His obituary is on file in note book. He served in the ArkansasHouse of
Representatives in 1944 to 1945. He was Franklin County Clerk from1970 until
1980 and served on the Ozark City Council from 1989 until April 1,1991.
* He is mentioned as deceased in obituary of his brother "Bennie".
* The 50 years ago column in The Spectator, Ozark, Arkansas reprintedan
article concerning a family reunion held Sunday, November 21, 1943 atthe home
of his mother. J. D. delivered the sermon at the Nazerine Church. Infile.
