Most of Thomas descendants continued to use Edgin although the recordsduring
the 1850's through the early 1900's frequently used Edgin and Agent

in 1850. I believe that Mary Minor is Thomas' daughter by either hisfirst or
second wife and Elizabeth Minor and John Minor are his grandchildren.There
is also a Sarah Mahathy and apparently her children Mary Mahathey(age 7) and
Tobey Mahathey (age 3) living with Thomas. Also an Elizabeth Edgin,(age 37,
born Tennessee) living with Thomas. Elizabeth is not his daughterbecause he
already has a daughter Elizabeth (age 18, born Tennessee).

He filed application No. 94 at Land Office in Clarksville, Arkansas 20
December 1967. Stating he was head of a family and a citizen of theUnited
States. He signed with his mark. He paid $2.00 18 December 1869 at
Clarksville. He signed a Non-Mineral affidavit for the same land 24October
1874 in Yell County. He signed with his mark. In October, 1874 (datenot
given) he stated that he was head of a family and that he had residedon the
land since the 20 day of December 1867. A. J. Nichols and James Edginstated
that Thomas was the head of a family consisting of his wife and thathe had
resided on the land 7 years (since 20 December 1867 and has built ahouse
thereon as well as a smoke house and stables. He paid $7.00 for 24October
1874 for SE 1/4 of the NE 1/4 of Section 33, Township 10N, Range 26W.He
received his final certificate for the 40 acres 29 Oct. 1874. Recordsfiled
in EDG0191. The General Land Office CD of Arkansas Land RecordsVersion 3.3,
9/17/93 indicates that the Sign_Date was 1 June 1875.
