Lansdell, Vaughn William Sr.
TRUMANN -- Funeral services for Vaughn William Lansdell Sr., 78, of Trumann, who died Tuesday, June 10, at St. Bernard's Medical Center in Jonesboro, will be at 10 a.m. today at the Thompson Funeral Home chapel, with the Rev. Frank Bufford officiating. Burial will follow in Marked Tree Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Jeffery Campbell, Jason Campbell, Kenneth Lansdell, Shane Harmon, Vaughn Lansdell III, Billy Harmon, Ricky Harmon, Phillip Waters, Justin Puverville, Dustin Lansdell and Cody Lansdell.
Born in Cleveland, he had lived most of his life in the Trumann area. He was retired from the Singer Co., an Army veteran and a member of Pleasant Valley Baptist Church.
Survivors include three daughters, Alice Byram of Jonesboro, Barbara Campbell of Burnsville, Miss., and Susan DeFries of Marmaduke; four sons, Vaughn Lansdell Jr. of Harrisburg, James Lansdell of Lake City, Leroy Lansdell of Marmaduke and Jimmy Lansdell of Jonesboro; one sister, Verna Blansett of Caraway; one brother, J.C. Lansdell of Trumann; 18 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Laura Headley Lansdell; his parents,
Sevier Clay and Bessie Dunlap Lansdell; two daughters; one son; and one brother.
