Blansett, Moses Jackson
MOSES BLANSETT DEAD
Moses Blansett, one of our best known citizens, who had been suffering from paralysis for several years, and who took a sudden turn for the worse the latter part of last week, died at his home in this place at 5 o'clock Monday a. m., August 17, 1931, aged 75 years, 6 months and 9 days. Moses Jackson Blansett was the son of William and Melvina Blansett and was born in Schuyler county, this state, on January 28, 1856.
Coming to this section at an early age, he located in Howard county, where he continued to reside until his removal to Higbee some thirty years ago. He was married on April 3, 1881, to Susan Hardin Dennis, and who preceded him to the grave fourteen years ago. To this union two daughters were born, Mrs. J.D. Lay and Mrs. O.P. Lessly, who survive.On March 31, 1924, he was married to Annie B. Crutchfield, who with the daughters, and one granddaughter, Miss Loretta Lessly, survives. He also leaves two sisters, Mrs. David Robb of this place and Mrs. Mary Kimbrell of Glenwood, and a number of nephews and nieces.
Honest and hard working, he had the respect of all who knew him.
Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon by the Rev. Notley Magruder at Mt. Ararat Baptist Church, of which deceased had been a member for many years, and interment made in Log Chapel cemetery. The sympathy of all goes out to his loved ones.
