Blansett, Jessie C. "Short"
TRUMANN Jessie C. Short Blansett on Tuesday, Aug. 26, 2008, the Lord
reached down his hand and brought Short Blansett to his heavenly home.
There he joined his wife, Verna Blansett; mother and father, Joe and Cora Blansett; two
brothers; and four sisters.
He will always be loved by his daughter, Jean Jeffers; grandsons and wives, Gary and Cindy
Jeffers of Caraway, and Randy and Lisa Jeffers of Lake City; great-grandson, Kyle Jeffers
of Mountain View; and two nieces.
Short owned and operated Blansetts Radiator and Garage in Trumann for 50-plus years.
He trained many young men as mechanics who are still mechanics today. He served his Lord
at Rowes Chapel Baptist Church in Caraway. He served as past master twice for the Trumann
Masonic Lodge, in which he was a member for 46 years.
Funeral services will be Friday at 1:30 p.m. in the chapel of Thompson Funeral Home at
Trumann with the Revs. Rick Stevens and Bobby Brooks officiating.
Masonic rites will be conducted at the committal service in Caraway.
Pallbearers will be Walter Gatlin, Ronald Tyler, Gene Rogers, Mark Douglas, Jason Kelems
and Jeff Martin.
Honorary pallbearers will be Russell Cromwell, Bill Wagner, Jim Bullock and A.C. Finley.
Visitation will be this evening from 5-7 in Thompson Funeral Home.
