King, Sadie (nee Blansett)
Sadie Blansett King, 89, of Wilmington, NC, died Thursday, March 8, 2007, at New Hanover Regional Medical Center.
She was born on July 26, 1917, in Wythe County, VA, the daughter of the late Marion G. and Wilda Horton Blansett. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Utley King Jr. She lived in Concord, NC, for many years and was a member of Central United Methodist Church and the Jesse Boger Sunday School Class. She enjoyed bowling and her bridge club. In Wilmington she was a member of Pine Valley United Methodist Church.
Surviving are two sons, John U. King III and wife Sammie of Wilmington, William Blansett King and wife Pat of Lake Wylie, SC; four grandchildren, Dianne Small and husband Chris, Jack King and wife Amanda, all of Wilmington, Will King and wife Krissy of Atlanta, GA, and Emily Pritchard and husband Michael of Charlotte, NC; seven great-grandchildren; and one brother, Marion G. Blansett Jr. of Midland, NC.
There will be a time of visitation for family and friends one hour prior to the service. A funeral service will be held 3 p.m. Friday, March 9, 2007, at Andrews Mortuary Market Street Chapel by Rev. Terry Leigh Buckner. Interment will follow in Oakdale Cemetery.
