Charles W. Kerley

Of Jackson, passed away on February 11, 2014 at the age of 76. Charles was born on January 8, 1938 to Clifford and Verneta Kerley in Pocahontas, Arkansas. Charles married Marge (Hands) on October 14, 1967; they were married for 47 wonderful years. Charles worked as a Correction Officer for the State of Michigan, retiring after 23 years of service. He loved all sports, especially his grandchildren's sporting events, was an avid card player, and loved his dog Patches. He is survived by his wife, Marge; children: Bryon, Mike (Lisa), Cathie (Richard) Briscoe, and Ed (Lyn); grandchildren: Alyssa, Mikaela, Bret, Cody, Kyle, Caleb, Mariah, Josh, and Andrea; siblings: Joyce (Derl) Echols and Ron (Linda) Kerley. He is preceded by his parents. A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, February 15, 2014 at 1:00 pm at the funeral home with visitation from 11:00 am until time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the American Heart Association.
